Mandala p.

A mandala is a complex and symmetrical figure, often used as a meditation tool. In this context, mandalas are constructed following precise numerical bases (for example, 8, 5, 12). Starting from a chosen base, the design will develop by incorporating geometric figures that are multiples or submultiples of the base (such as 16, 10, 24).

In the design of a mandala, colors play a crucial role and are never chosen at random. They are determined by the correspondence between angles and colors according to the Pythagorean scales: Dorian, Phrygian, or Lydian. This approach makes the mandala an objective work of art. Conversely, the random use of colors leads to the creation of a subjective work.

By examining an Objective Mandala, we can deduce the angles present at an observed point, even in the absence of visible lines, as these can be inferred from the general structure of the design. Similarly, knowing the angle and the applied Pythagorean scale, we can predict the color to be used.

Theoretically, the mandala can be developed infinitely, regardless of the chosen numerical base.
